Ready for the Pickup Segment Competition: 2016 Ford Atlas

At the Detroit Auto Show, a USA based automobile manufacturer, Ford surprised the visitors with its Atlas full-size pickup concept. The new 2016 Ford Atlas is the next generation of the 2015 F-150. The F-series Ford pickup has been the best-selling in US for around 36 years. Ford releasing this new pickup due to the consideration that GM just also unveiled the all new full size pickups. There are some other competitors such as 2014 Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra that become the background of this new Atlas release.

There are preparations done to meet this challenging automobile market, especially for the pickup segment. Ford has learned more about the fuel efficiency, technologies and performance so that the new 2016 Ford Atlas will be given with improved fuel efficiency, more potential technologies and also advanced capacity. 2016 Ford Atlas Designs

Two options of the seating materials, cloth and leather are offered based on the trim level. Some metallic and wood accents advocate the interior look. Sturdy dash and instrumentation look perfect and functional with the easy controls. The navigation system is upgraded and supported with the touch screen display. Under the Hood

2016 Ford Atlas features some types of engines. For the standard F150, the 3.5 liter V6 engine will be installed. This engine is powerful enough to deliver 383 horsepower and 255 pounds of torque. The next engine is a 2.7 liter EcoBoost V6. It produces lower power with only 325 horsepower and 375 pounds of torque. The 3.5 liter EcoBoost engine results in 365 horsepower and 420 pounds of torque and the last 5.0 liter V8 engine has 360 horsepower and 380 pounds of torque. All the 2016 Ford Atlas models feature six-speed automatic gearbox. The EcoBoost engine differentiates this pickup from the others and is rumored to have an acceleration of zero to 60 mph in 8.1 seconds.

Release Date & Price

The 2016 Ford Atlas release date is still uncertain until some predictions noted. The 2016 Ford Atlas is predicted to be released in late 2015 or early 2016. Besides, there are also some predictions about the price. Most of the observers estimate the price between $26,000 and $52,000. This is a reasonable price.
